... rest and recovery.
I've been fighting a head cold and then some since Wednesday. Although, leave it to my stubborn self to ignore all the signs of just resting and taking it easy. (I kept going until I couldn't go anymore). So I spent the rest of the weekend in bed, on the sofa, and the occasional walking around. I'm just glad I've got older kids that can pretty much fend for themselves and keep an eye on one another while I go in and out of sleep throughout the day.
This weekend, I reconnected with my 50mm lens and realized why I loved it so much. I enjoyed snapping little tid-bits of the weekend, not much, but just enough to make me smile :)
I was able to scrapbook though. With the laptop (on my lap) I was able to gather photos and just create. I even added some paper scrapbooking in there. (saving for another post)
I did see the movie Star Trek on Thursday night
(they did an early showing at 7:30 pm here), and (being the sci-fi guru I am, I really enjoyed it!) I did not keep up with the original and have seen a few here and there, but you really did not have to be a die hard Trekky fan to watch this. I think Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto did an amazing job! And the trailers to "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" was exciting and GI Joe! Holy Moly!!! I can't wait!!!
Mother's Day 2009.
A relaxing day. Hubby surprised me by taking that night off from work! He came home at 8 am and I just had to share how funny SNL was the night before. So we sat there and laughed at the funny parts. We love JT. Then he went off to take a little nap while my kids started rolling out of bed. Needless to say, Mother's Day does not necessarily mean that we have a day off :) I always remind my kids that mommy doesn't need anything, cause I have been shopping the week prior and treated myself to things I wanted. It completely takes the fun out of the element of surprise, but I know what I want. :)
Looking forward to a new week :)
